Interested in learning more about how to successfully partner with universities and researchers so it actually benefits YOUR community?  Want to access grant dollars for your community to work with university faculty?

This workshop series is designed to provide information for how university faculty and neighborhood-level organizations and residents can work together to address community issues. This series aims to build the capacity of researchers and community stakeholders to create and maintain long-term, collaborative community partnerships in the St. Louis region.

Following the workshop series, attendees will be invited to apply for mini-grant opportunities for faculty-community partnerships through CWC and learn about other funding opportunities.

Workshop sessions will be held virtually from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.  Sessions 1 and 2 are required in order to attend sessions 3 and 4. A Zoom link will be sent before each session.

Participants will gain insight into the influence of racism on the performance of academic research and how this effects the work done in and for the community.

Session objectives are to:

  • Understand the feeling of being over-researched and exploited for data and academic careers.

  • Learn about the creation of local institutions, institutional racism and institutional patterns of behavior.

  • Explore initiatives for university-community research collaborations and successful examples.

  • Learn about how the non-academic side of a university (employment, economic development, and real estate) affects the community.

Registration Deadline: September 11th
