The free two-day grant-writing workshop is being presented by the Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Program at Kansas State University, in partnership with the Iowa Division of Natural Resources, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy. The workshop is designed to offer tools and tips for grant-writing when applying for U.S. EPA Brownfields, Environmental Justice, Pollution Prevention, Environmental Education, and healthy homes and lead-paint grants.
Topics will include:
-Grant-writing 101: How to tell your story and tips for writing a project description.
-Identifying, connecting, and engaging your community and establishing partnerships.
-Developing a budget.
-An overview of TAB EZ (a free online grant writing tool).
-How to submit an application via grants.gov.
-Detailed discussion of grant guidelines*.
*Two breakout sessions will be offered, each focusing on different grants. One track will be specific to brownfields assessment, revolving loan fund, and cleanup (ARC) grants, and the second will combine specifics for environmental justice, pollution prevention, environmental education, and healthy homes and lead-paint grants. Bring a friend or a colleague to ensure you get the most out of this two-day event.
