Gardens to Tables Food Day is held annually at the Gardens to Tables Teaching Garden to promote sustainable, healthy, and just agricultural practices. The event will occur from 11-1 on November 1 and will kick off with Bryan Rogers from Gateway Greening discussing his role in improving the St. Louis area food system. Around the garden, there will be several organizations showcasing their efforts in addressing all areas of the food system: food deserts and food access, composting and vermiculture, fighting childhood obesity, and the process of growing and promoting healthy food. The gourmet menu is designed by Chef/Registered Dietitian Jackie Price and prepared by SLU Dietetic Interns using local products.
The cost of the meal is $7 which is payable in advance through the website below or in person at the event. In the case of rain, the event will be moved inside to the Fresh Gatherings Cafeteria in the Allied Health Building ( 3437 Caroline St.) Questions about the event can be directed to Lauren Landfried at lauren.landfried@health.slu.edu.
This event is made possible through the partnership of the Saint Louis University's Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, the City of St. Louis Department of Health, and Les Dames d'Escoffier International.
