Community Action Workshop - 24:1 Housing Rights and Resources

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/community-action-workshop-241-housing-rights-and-resources-tickets-120452196763

Registration required. Please see the link above for more information.

This free workshop walks tenants through their rights as renters under Missouri law.

You will come away knowing how to advocate for yourself in a variety of common situations with landlords—including housing discrimination—and you’ll also hear updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting tenants. This includes an explanation of the recent order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that limits evictions for people experiencing a COVID-related hardship.

Bring your questions for a Q&A with our facilitator, Marissa Cohen of the Metropolitan St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council, as well as staff from Beyond Housing and a Washington University expert in negotiation between landlords and tenants.

This community action workshop is sponsored by EHOC, Beyond Housing, and the MU Extension Service. It’s part of the 24:1 Community Conference “Facing Our Today for a Better Tomorrow: Rising to the Call of Action,” which kicked off online on Aug. 22.
