Affordable Housing Trust Fund Coalition Seeking Proposals for Data Researchers

Systemic racism and white supremacy have starved communities of color for resources and investment. In St. Louis, 75% of low-income Black households are cost-burdened (paying more than 30% of their income on housing), compared with 62% of low-income white households.

Although the Coalition knows that the affordable housing resources currently available are insufficient, our region lacks an accurate understanding of the full scope of that need.

The proposed St. Louis Housing Report Card, modeled after the successful New Orleans Housing Report Card, will evaluate the current affordable housing need and allow advocates to reassess whether the region is actually making progress toward meeting our affordable housing needs. Thanks to a generous grant by the Deaconess Foundation to hire a consultant to help us, the Coalition is now ready to take action.

Stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved!

The AHTF Coalition is currently looking for equity-minded data researchers to help them create our Housing Report Card! Submit a proposal by July 10 at 5pm.
